Horror in Old Anarkali: 12-Year-Old Boy Set Ablaze After Petty Dispute

LAHORE- Pakistan– The bustling streets of Old Anarkali, a historic heart of Lahore, were stained by an act of unspeakable cruelty when a 12-year-old boy, Awais, was allegedly doused in petrol and set on fire following a minor argument.

The shocking incident unfolded at his brother’s jewellery shop, a place typically associated with the sparkle of precious metals, now tragically linked to a horrifying display of violence. According to initial police reports, two youths engaged in a dispute with young Awais. What began as a “minor argument” escalated with terrifying speed into an act of torture, culminating in the horrific immolation.

Details remain scarce, but authorities confirm that after physically assaulting Awais, the perpetrators allegedly poured petrol on him before igniting the flammable liquid. The motive behind such an extreme and brutal response to a “minor argument” is currently the focus of an urgent police investigation.

The community of Old Anarkali, known for its vibrant culture and historical significance, is reeling from the incident. Questions are being raised about the escalating nature of disputes and the alarming lack of empathy that could lead to such a monstrous act against a child.

As Awais fights for his life, the incident serves as a grim reminder of the urgent need for justice and a deeper societal introspection into the roots of such horrific violence. Police have launched a manhunt for the two suspects, and the public is urged to come forward with any information that could assist in bringing them to justice.
